## Fever Find Fortune in 'Stranger Things' Jerseys

The Indiana Fever have defied expectations this season despite a litany of injuries. Superstar Caitlin Clark has been sidelined for 19 games, and Thursday saw guards Aari McDonald (torn ACL) and Sydney Colson (broken foot) both end their seasons prematurely.  Yet, amidst the adversity, the Fever have emerged with an unexpected winning streak – one they seem to attribute to a unique good luck charm: their "Stranger Things" rebel jerseys.

After a five-game win streak, the Fever suffered two losses in a row. Then, on Saturday, they donned their "Stranger Things"-themed uniforms for the third time this season – and defeated the Chicago Sky 92-70.  The jersey's record now stands at an impressive 3-0.

The first victory came against the Las Vegas Aces on July 24, followed by a win over the Phoenix Mercury on July 30.   With their latest win, the Fever have fans buzzing about a potential connection between these jerseys and their success.  As Twitter user @caitlinclarksty put it, "The Indiana Fever are 3–0 in the Stranger Things rebel jersey 🩸👀."

**Clutch Performances Amidst Absences**

Even with Clark and Angel Reese out of action, the Fever continue to impress. All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell scored 26 points against the Sky, surpassing Napheesa Collier for the most total points scored this season (637).  This strong performance contributed to the team's sixth win in their last eight games, propelling them into fifth place in the WNBA standings with an 18-14 record.

**The Streak Continues?**

Next Tuesday, the Fever will face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, sporting their "Stranger Things" jerseys once again.  Can they extend their winning streak to 4-0 and solidify the superstition that these uniforms bring them good luck?

## WNBA Star Caitlin Clark Gifts Butler Bulldogs Kobe Shoes, Cementing Indianapolis Connection

Caitlin Clark isn't just rewriting the WNBA; she's reshaping Indianapolis basketball culture one thoughtful move at a time. 

The reigning WNBA draft No. 1 pick, recently selected by the Indiana Fever, has become a fixture at local games and practices.  Her latest act of kindness? Gifting the Butler Bulldogs men’s basketball team with Nike Kobe 5 Protro shoes in a Fever-inspired colorway.


"That's all (Caitlin), she's generous," said Connor McCaffery, Butler assistant coach and Clark's boyfriend, to IndyStar.  

McCaffery coordinated the shoe delivery through his partnership with Clark, who handled all logistics despite his assistance with gathering sizes. The shoes, which dropped June 30th and now resell for nearly double their $190 retail price, are among Nike’s most sought-after releases this summer.


"She wants us to do well, but she wants to see good basketball all throughout the city," McCaffery explained, highlighting Clark's dedication to the local game.

**Clark's gesture transcends a simple gift.**  The choice of Kobe 5 Protros, with their symbolic weight and association with Clark's admiration for Bryant's legacy, adds another layer of meaning. By giving something rare and valuable, Clark demonstrates her appreciation while fostering a sense of community.

**Indiana finds success amidst Caitlin Clark's absence, signing Australian forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract.**

The Indiana Fever have been riding high recently, securing two consecutive wins and pushing their 2025 WNBA season record to 14-12 during Caitlin Clark's absence.  To fill the roster gap, the team brought in Australian forward Chloe Bibby on a temporary seven-day contract. 

Bibby, a former Maryland standout, has already seen action with the Golden State Valkyries this year, playing in five games and averaging 11 minutes per contest. She made an immediate impact in her Indiana debut, contributing eight points, two rebounds, and one block in a victory over the Chicago Sky.


**Crossing Continents for Victory: A Speedy Transition**

Prior to joining the Fever, Bibby was leading the Australian national team to a gold medal at the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup earlier this month.  This global journey may have presented its own challenges.

When asked about the hardest part of settling in with the Fever during Tuesday's media availability, Bibby responded directly: "The jet lag, to be honest, that's probably it." She did admit to catching up on some much-needed sleep earlier in the week, stating, "Slept like 10 hours the other day, so I feel good."

Fever coach Stephanie White praised Bibby during practice leading up to Sunday's win over Chicago. She highlighted Bibby's ability to stretch the floor, create space for teammates, and contribute as a shooter.  White also emphasized the importance of integrating Bibby early into the lineup against the Sky's zone defense, stating, "Bringing in Chloe early and having four shooters around [Aliyah Boston] was important."
